Dr Paul le Roux

Introducing our Non Executive Board Member: Dr Paul le Roux

Dr Paul le Roux is a Director, and the CEO, of Cape Fertility Clinic.
He is a registered Specialist in Reproductive Medicine with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
He completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Cape Town. He did his two year fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Cape Town / Groote Schuur Hospital. He received numerous merit awards for excellence in his clinical work and research during his training. His original research work in endocrinology has been published in leading international journals, and he has presented many papers at international congresses.

His special interests are IVF, reproductive endocrinology and egg donation.

Dr. le Roux is Past-President of SASREG (Southern African Society for Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy).

He has served in the following positions on national boards:

* Elected Vice-President of SASREG in 2008
* Elected President of SASREG in 2011
* Elected President of SASREG in 2014
* Advisor to American Association of Gynaecological Laparoscopists (AAGL) in 2011
* Editorial board of IFFS Surveillance Report in 2013 and 2016, and co-authored the reports.
* International Scientific committee of IFFS in 2016
* Authored the gamete donation guidelines for South Africa.
* Chair of accreditation committee for IVF clinics in South Africa from 2011 onwards
* SASREG liaison member for Department of Health for the formulation of new legislation
* Chair of LOC for International AAGL conference in Cape Town in 2013
* Chair of LOC for National SASREG Conference in 2015

Dr. le Roux is married and has two lovely daughters.

Dr Antonio Rodrigues

Introducing our Non Executive Board Member: Dr Antonio Rodrigues.

MBBCh , FCOG, MBA, Reproductive Medicine Specialist / Director Medfem Fertility Clinic

Dr Antonio Rodrigues is a founding member and director of Medfem Fertility Clinic. Tony is a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician and qualified at the University of the Witwatersrand, Gauteng, South Africa, graduating in 1979. Tony is also a Fellow of College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists and completed his FCOG in 1989 at the University of the Witwatersrand. In 2000, Tony was awarded his MBA through Henley Management College London, and completed his dissertation on ‘The Health Maintenance of Knowledge Based Workers – Who is Responsible’.

In addition to his fertility background Tony is an expert in lifestyle and its effect on fertility of females and males. Research performed by Tony became a catalyst for the book ‘Faster, Better, Sicker – Time Urgency Perfectionism Stress and Your Health’. He has been responsible for integrating this course, creating the logical sequencing, developing a research based nutrient package to optimise the course’s success and correlating the clinical symptoms and diseases. Over the past 14 years, Tony has taken a special interest in the diagnosis and management of Time Urgency Stress in infertile women with special reference to endometriosis, and in this time has assessed over 4000 patients. As a result of the research and medical findings, Tony has co-launched an online Time Urgency Stress Management Course with internet based assessment and feedback – www.timeurgency.com, as well as a TUPS stress management mobile app.

Tony is also an expert and leader in minimally invasive surgery. Medfem Fertility Clinic is one of the first institutions in South Africa to have developed a fully comprehensive operating theatre with all the necessary equipment to perform minimally invasive surgery. The specialists at Medfem Fertility Clinic have all undergone extensive training abroad and teach endoscopic surgery on an ongoing basis to visiting gynaecologists.
In 2003 Tony assisted Georen Pharmaceuticals in developing a Growth Hormone Secretogue, antioxidant, vitamin and mineral complex – StaminoGro. StaminoGro in know to assist with fertility by increasing the amounts of natural growth hormones that your body is producing.

Tony is a regular broadcaster and is in high demand for his excellent teaching presentations on various aspects of infertility. He also writes a monthly column for Mama’s and Papa’s magazine. He is the author of numerous articles in refereed journals, several book chapters and review articles, and speaks nationally and internationally on infertility.

Angela Kelleher

Angela joined IFAASA in its setup phase as a Director. Her primary objective is to drive the marketing activities of the group and build awareness of infertility across Southern Africa. The IFAASA team’s most challenging task is to break the silence that exists around infertility. Angela’s own experience of how lonely the infertility journey can be has increased her passion to build a community where knowledge can be shared freely and openly, while removing the social stigmas attached to the predicament. With over 20 years of corporate marketing experience Angela brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. She has a young daughter, via egg donation and she can be reached directly at angela@ifaasa.co.za.

Saskia Williams

Saskia is a founding member and Director of IFAASA. Her desire to help start IFAASA, stemmed from many years of Infertility. She was the spokesperson at the 2013 Discovery medical aid AGM, when the motion was brought forward for Infertility to be covered. After trying to conceive for 7 years, 3 IVF’s and the loss of her Daughter, Eloise, at 24 weeks gestation, she and her husband finally realised their dream of becoming a family, via Adoption. She manages a successful Real Estate office and lives with her husband of 12 years, their 5 year old son and 3 dogs. She can be contacted at saskia@ifaasa.co.za.

Meggan Zunckel

Meggan is a Director and co-founder of IFAASA. She co-founded IFAASA in 2013 after her and her husband went though many years of infertility treatment, resulting in their daughter. For Meggan, giving the infertile couple support and information is what motivates her to continue building IFAASA’s resources and skills. Infertility does not have to be a lonely journey and IFAASA can offer people diagnosed with infertility a portal of valuable information and services. Meggan is a Psychometrist in private practice and specialises in assessment centres and performance management systems. She can be reached directly at meggan@ifaasa.co.za

Leandra Rossi

Leandra first got involved with IFAASA in 2014, as a volunteer and now she is a Director of the Association. As a qualified Physiotherapist, now working in Human Resources, it is important for her to bring awareness to Infertility, to let others know they are not alone, that the more we speak out on Infertility, listen and advocate for change, the less people will have to suffer in silence. Leandra has 2 boys, conceived after a total of 10 IVF’s and 6 miscarriages. She can be reached at leandra@ifaasa.co.za
